Built in 2020, River Song is our delightful first cabin, thoughtfully crafted as a romantic getaway for couples or a cozy retreat for small families. Picture yourself relaxing in the opulent handmade King Size four-poster bed, featuring a clever nook behind it that can comfortably sleep three additional people in a double and single bunk, complete with a high ceiling and its own window.

We've design River Song to be Easy!. It features an outdoor bath that conveniently fills instantly with gas hot water — no waiting hours for fires. It's located in the central North Island, under 3 hours from Auckland Airport, making it the perfect place to connect with friends or family, or for a first or last night stay in New Zealand and its accessed off a sealed road with flat driveways.

Discover the charm of your River Song cabin, featuring a designer kitchen that fully equipped with a dishwasher, 2-burner electric hob, microwave and coffee maker. Enjoy fresh filtered spring water on tap—no need for plastic bottles—along with a spacious fridge freezer and our homemade fruit ice cubes, perfect for enhancing your cocktails or teas. Outside, you'll find a BBQ under the covered deck and a choice between a handcrafted outdoor farmers table or a cozy upcycled indoor dining area.
To keep the whole family entertained, we provide two kayaks, a fun sea biscuit, giant Jenga, petanque, puzzles, games, books, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Laundry facilities are located 250 meters away at the homestead and are available for free (always open). If I'm home I'll gladly pop your clothes in the dryer and return them to you once they're finished.
Mobile phone reception is limited, providing “ bars” on the Spark and Skinny networks, while other require a 5-minute drive or a walk up the farm track.
WiFi is available through a rural wireless network, and you will automatically connect upon your arrival, however since this location is perfect for unwinding in nature, you might prefer to disconnect and enjoy quality time with loved ones.
