FARM TOURS

Stay on 3rd generation family owned sheep and beef farm in New Zealand

Heading 4

"One of our best experiences of our New Zealand Honeymoon!"

Enjoy an easy, scenic farm walk right from your cabin — with rolling hill views, river lookouts, Hobbit filming landscapes and friendly farm dogs. It’s a relaxed, family-friendly experience that gives you a taste of real rural New Zealand, and one of the most peaceful outdoor activities to enjoy during your stay near Waitomo.

We’re delighted to offer our guests a free private tour of our stunning farm—an exclusive experience available to those staying four nights or more. Nestled in one of the world’s most breathtaking locations, our private property is not open to the public, making this tour a truly unique opportunity.

Our family farm isn’t just home to friendly animals and scenic river views — it’s also a piece of movie magic. In 2011, our land was used as a filming location for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, with the dramatic limestone bluffs providing a stunning backdrop. Since then, the farm has featured in several other productions, including the 2018 Bud Light Super Bowl commercial. Whether you're a film buff or just love beautiful landscapes, there's something extra special about standing where the cameras once rolled.

As well as stunning views of lakes and mountains our farm has many cascading waterfalls and beautiful streams. These are not accessible to the public and many have yet to be named - maybe you can help with that!

We’ll coordinate with you to find the best time for your visit, doing our best to align with both your schedule and the weather to ensure an unforgettable experience. To maintain a personal and immersive atmosphere, larger groups may be split into smaller ones for the tour.

We can't wait to welcome you and share the beauty of the land we’re so lucky to call home.
